The sails should be installed with the shiny side of the fabric facing the window or sun. This will maximise the performance and significantly increase the lifespan of your product. The label is on the shiny side of the fabric. Please follow the detailed installation instructions provided when putting up your sails.
All of our sails are carefully inspected during each stage of the production process however occasionally we do miss things. Please examine your sails as soon as you put them up, any marks or fabric flaws that were not picked up during our own inspections will become visible once the fabric is backlit by the sun. Please report these to us as soon as possible.
On our darker coloured sails you can sometimes see white powdery marks. This is talc residue from the silicon elastic edging and can be brushed off using a clean soft brush or rinsed off by running the sail through a wash cycle.
For maximum solar performance and lifespan your sails should be washed every 6 months or more frequently if they become dirty or dusty.
The sails should be washed on a cold or 30 degree cycle using a mild liquid detergent. Do not use excessive amounts of detergent and rinse well.
Do not wash at higher temperatures to remove marks as this could set the stains making them extremely difficult to remove. If stains remain after washing contact us for advice on the use of spot cleaners.
Only wash sails of the same colour together.
Never use any bleach or bleach type products or detergents that are specifically for use on whites as these often contain chemicals that can affect the colour. This applies to all colours including white sails.
